


Officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) led by Asst. Secretary Ada Colico and the National Coalition for the Family and the Constitution (NCFC) gathered for a coordination meeting last May 30 to expound on the brewing collaboration aimed at enhancing support systems for Filipino families.
Ms. Maria Lourdes Sereno, Convenor of the NCFC, reiterated their group’s support for the integration of values-based lessons into the modules used in the implementation of the Parent Effectiveness Service (PES) Program. The PES is a national program that focuses on empowering Filipino parents and parent-substitutes to efficiently perform their parental duties and responsibilities.
Undersecretary Vilma Cabrera of the DSWD’s Conditional Cash Transfer Group (CCTG) also joined the meeting and she provided the NCFC with an overview of the Family Development Session (FDS) of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Other NCFC officials who joined Ms. Sereno were Atty. Jochebel Dela Cruz, Dennis Castillo, and Mary Ruth Tablate, alongside Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) representatives Mr. Emil Ybañez Jr. and Lydia Serrano. (LSJ)
