
The field visit, which will run from August 27 to 30, is in coordination with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In its continuing effort to monitor the status of beneficiaries under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its National Program Management Office (NPMO), is holding a field visit to beneficiaries in selected municipalities in Tawi-Tawi province from August 27 to 30.
The 4Ps NPMO field visit is being conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In an August 28 Facebook post, the 4Ps-NPMO said the 2nd Joint Field Visit 2024 of the 4Ps National Advisory Council (NAC) and National Technical Working Group (NTWG) has officially started in selected municipalities in the Province of Tawi-Tawi on August 27 at the Mindanao State University Auditorium in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Municipality of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
“The joint field visit is an annual initiative of the 4Ps NPMO, NAC, NTWG, and concerned local government units (LGUs) that seeks to address local issues, concerns, and gaps in program implementation and strengthen convergence efforts both at the national and local levels through inter-agency support,” the Facebook post said.
According to the FB post, the BARMM Regional Advisory Council (BRAC), representatives from government agencies, LGUs, and development partners are participating in the ongoing field visit to the municipalities of Bongao, Sibutu, Simunul, and Panglima Sugala.
As part of the 4-day visit to Tawi-Tawi, the participants will hold consultations with the beneficiaries through home visit interviews focusing on aspects of education, health, compliance with program conditions, livelihood, family development sessions (FDS), and other services provided to the beneficiaries of the program.
DSWD partners will also inspect health and school facilities, as well as participate in dialogues with local officials to develop and sustain convergence interventions that are responsive to the identified needs of localities relevant to the program.
The Tawi-Tawi visit, which is led by DSWD Undersecretary for 4Ps Vilma Cabrera and Asst. Secretary Marites Maristela, marks the DSWD’s 2nd Joint Field Visit this year, following its first stop in the province of Sorsogon in Bicol Region last April.
MSSD- BARMM Minister Raissa H. Jajurie led the opening ceremony which was also attended by Bongao Municipal Mayor Jimuel Que, Simunul Municipal Mayor Wasilah Abdulrahman, and Panglima Sugala Municipal Mayor Nubert Sahali also joined the opening activity.
The 4Ps is the government’s national poverty reduction strategy and human capital investment program that provides conditional cash transfer to poor households for a maximum period of seven (7) years, to improve health, nutrition and education.
As of June 2024, there are more than 4 million household beneficiaries nationwide who are receiving conditional cash grants under the poverty alleviation program.
In BARMM, a total of 248,450 households are enrolled in the program. #
