Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and United Nations World Food Programme (UN-WFP) Country Director Regis Chapman sign the transfer of property formally handing over the ownership of a mobile kitchen unit to the DSWD.

During a simple ceremony on Tuesday (April 22) at the DSWD’s Disaster Response Command Center (DRCC), Secretary Gatchalian expressed his gratitude to the UN WFP for their generous donation.

The new mobile kitchen will be immediately sent to the DSWD Field Office 5-Bicol Region to help in their disaster response operations.

Other officials present in the turnover ceremony were Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe and Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao of the Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG); Assistant Director Michael Cristopher Mathay of the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB); Division Chief Claudio Villareal Jr of the FO-5 Disaster Response and Management.; and Programme Policy Officer for Emergency Preparedness and Response Harold Javier of the WFP.
