The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has renewed its ISO 9001:2015 Certification and was also granted ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification, reinforcing its commitment to excellence, efficiency, and security in public service delivery.
The certifications were awarded to the agency on Monday (February 17) as part of the DSWD’s 74th anniversary celebration at the Central Office in Batasan, Quezon City.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, alongside Undersecretary Adonis Sulit of the Policy and Planning Group (PPG), Asst. Secretary Rodolfo Santos, and Division Chief Sandy Roy Ocampo of the Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS), received the
certifications from the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. and SGS Philippines, Inc.
Asst. Secretary Rodolfo Santos, who is also team leader of the Project Management Team for Information Security Management System (PrMT for ISMS), said the ISO 9001:2015 recertification reaffirms the DSWD’s dedication to implementing globally recognized quality management principles, ensuring streamlined processes, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
“Our pursuit of these certifications is a testament to our dedication to serve with efficiency, with extra love and care, to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors of our society. This certification underscores the Department’s ongoing efforts to enhance social protection programs and services, fostering greater accountability and responsiveness to the needs of the Filipino people,” Asst. Secretary Santos explained.
Complementing the ISO 9001:2015 is the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification, which signifies the DSWD’s commitment to information security management.
“As a government agency entrusted with handling sensitive personal and confidential data, the DSWD upholds stringent security measures to protect its information assets against cyber threats and breaches,” Asst. Secretary Santos pointed out.
This certification, according to the DSWD official, assures the public that the Department prioritizes the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its data, ensuring trust and reliability in its digital systems.
“With these, we ensure that we are continuously providing the most effective services to the Filipino people who are vulnerable to security threats as well as ensuring that they fully comply with the Data Privacy Act,” Asst. Secretary Santos said.
