Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian and representatives from World Bank gather for a meeting on Friday (May 23) to discuss the proposed enhanced exit strategies for graduating beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Secretary Gatchalian is optimistic that the package of services in the updated strategies will be able to cater to the varying needs of exiting 4Ps beneficiaries and lead them toward their sustained socioeconomic development.
This is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s thrust at ensuring that all graduating 4Ps beneficiaries will not slip back to poverty, and ultimately thrive as active contributors to nation-building.
The DSWD officials who joined Secretary Gatchalian in the meeting were Undersecretary Adonis Sulit of the Policy and Planning Group (PPG); Undersecretary Vilma Cabrera and Asst. Secretary Marites Maristela of the Conditional Cash Transfer Group (CCTG); Asst. Secretary for Policy Juan Carlo Marquez; Asst. Secretary Johannes Paulus Acuňa of the Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS); Director Gemma Gabuya of the 4Ps National Program Management Office (4Ps NPMO); and Asst. Director Hannah Giray-Carcido of the Policy Development and Planning Bureau (PDPB).
The World Bank officials who were in the meeting were Senior Social Protection Specialist Ruth Rodriguez and Social Protection Specialist Monica Melchor. (LSJ).
