Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Thursday (July 24) joins President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in a visit to habagat-displaced families currently seeking temporary shelter at the Maly Elementary School and Sta. Ana Brgy Hall, Covered Court in San Mateo, Rizal.

During their visit to the evacuation centers, President Marcos Jr and the DSWD chief distributed family food packs (FFPs) and other essential items to the displaced families to ensure that their daily needs will be met.

Secretary Gatchalian also showed to President Marcos Jr. the agency’s deployed mobile kitchen that will help provide hot meals to the evacuees and other internally displaced individuals (IDPs) in the area.

Other cabinet officials who joined the visit were Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. Local officials were also present during the Presidential site visit. # (AKDL)
