Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Tuesday (May 6) led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the soft-opening of the newly-renovated facilities of the DSWD Academy, formerly known as the Social Welfare and Development for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP), in Taguig City.
The revamped DSWD Academy building marks the completion of the first phase of the learning center’s revitalization under the priority agenda of Secretary Gatchalian.
After the ceremonial activities, the DSWD chief inspected the completed renovations and ongoing construction of the additional building that is set to complete the transformation of the agency’s premier learning center for social workers.
The DSWD Academy is being managed by the agency’s Regulatory Services and Institutional Development Group (RSIDG) under the leadership of Undersecretary Denise Bernos-Bragas and fellow officials Asst. Secretary Janet Armas and Director Justin Caesar Anthony Batocabe.
Members of the DSWD’s executive and management committees also joined the academy’s soft launching. (LSJ)
