The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) welcomed the results of the latest Tangere survey which recognized Secretary Rex Gatchalian as the top-performing Cabinet member under the Marcos administration, with a 59.92 percent satisfaction rating.
DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said on Friday (March 7) this recognition belongs to every dedicated \’Angel in Red Vest\’ working in the Central and Field Offices, as well as those in agency-managed centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs).
“This achievement reflects the hard work of the entire DSWD workforce to deliver timely and necessary programs and services, with extra love and extra care, for the marginalized and disadvantaged Filipinos,” Asst. Secretary Dumlao pointed out.
According to the agency spokesperson, the DSWD, under Secretary Gatchalian’s leadership, has prioritized swift and compassionate service, particularly for the most vulnerable sectors of society.
Among the Department’s key initiatives are the enhancement of its existing services and establishment
of innovative services to better serve its clients.
Beyond direct assistance, the DSWD, as mentioned by Asst. Secretary Dumlao, has strengthened its social protection programs through digital transformation.
“We have digitalized and streamlined our processes to ensure faster delivery of aid while enhancing transparency and accountability in our operations,” the DSWD spokesperson said.
The survey was conducted from February 27 to March 1, through Tangere\’s mobile-based respondent application, gathering a total of 2,400 participants across the Philippines.
