Some 62 students volunteered on Wednesday (June 11) at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help in the repacking of family food packs (FFPs) intended for disaster-affected families.
The volunteers were composed of 54 students from the Far Eastern University (FEU) and eight from the Members Church of God International (MCGI) who worked tirelessly at DSWD’s NROC warehouses in Pasay City.
The FFPs will form part of the stockpile for the agency’s regional warehouses as replenishment for the supplies that were used in recent disaster operations.
The continuous repacking of FFPs is in line with the DSWD’s Buong Bansa Handa strategy which is based on the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr to ensure that sufficient stocks of relief goods are ready for distribution during disasters. (GDVF)
