As part of the government’s efforts to ensure sufficient food supply among poor households, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian leads the distribution of rice to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Monday (October 23).

Each beneficiary received a 25-kilo sack of premium Jasmine rice, which is part of the confiscated rice by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in the Port of Zamboanga and later donated to the DSWD.

Joining Secretary Gatchalian in the rice distribution are Tawi-Tawi Governor Ysmael I. Sali; Vice-Governor Al Syed A. Sali and DSWD officials that include Undersecretaries Eduardo Punay, Monina Josefina Romualdez and Allan Tanjusay: Asst. Secretary Florentino Loyola Jr.; and DSWD Field Office-9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) Asst. Regional Director Ma. Socorro Macaso.
