Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian  hands over on Friday (March 15) the livelihood settlement grants to stall owners and vendors who were affected by the January fire that hit the San Fernando City public market in La Union province.

Some 682 beneficiaries received their grants ranging from Php5,000 to Php 15,000 through the agency’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Joining the DSWD Secretary during the payout at Barangay Poro Covered Court were San Fernando City Mayor Hermenegildo “Dong” A. Gualberto, DSWD Operations Group Asst. Secretary Florentino Loyola, Jr., SLP-National Program Management Office Director Edmon  Monteverde, DSWD Ilocos Region Director Marie Angela Gopalan, and OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Anniely Ferrer.#
