Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo visited and handed over cash assistance, family food packs (FFPs), and other relief items to the 314 families or 798 individuals affected by the fire incident that occurred at E. Rodriguez, Barangay 144, Pasay City on Wednesday, August 24, at around 7:25 in the evening.

Of these numbers, 310 families or 789 individuals are currently staying inside the evacuation center located at the T. Paez Elementary School.

As of August 25, the DSWD, through its Field Office-National Capital Region (FO-NCR), has provided 350 FFPs and 350 kitchen kits to the affected families. Financial Assistance amounting to Php 5,000.00 has also been distributed to each family victim.

As of press time, a total of P5 million stand-by funds, and stockpile including more than 19,000 FFPs, 6,417 mosquito nets, and 594 sleeping kits, among others, are still available at the FO-NCR.

he DSWD ensures continuous coordination with the local government units (LGUs) in monitoring and assessing the affected families and individuals. ###
