Staff of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office X distribute financial assistance to families affected by heavy rains and floods due to the Shearline on Friday, December 30.

In its continuing relief operations effort, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducted simultaneous payouts in the 12 local government units (LGUs) of Misamis Occidental om Friday, December 30, to provide assistance to families and individuals affected by the inclement weather and floods brought by the shear line.

DSWD Field Office X Assistant Regional Director for Operations Ronald Ryan Cui supervised the distribution of financial assistance and family food packs (FFPs) to the LGUs of Sinacaban; Clarin; Jimenez; Ozamis City; Oroquieta City; Aloran; Tudela; Lopez Jaena; Panaon; Plaridel; Baliangao, and Gingoog.

Some 932 residents of Tudela, 576 families in the municipality of Clarin, and 505 families in Sinacaban received cash assistance from the Department.

The DSWD Field Office X also distributed financial assistance to 124 residents of Ozamis, 128 families in Panaon, and 7 family beneficiaries from Baliangao with partially-damaged houses.

Meanwhile, there were 1,016 residents from Jimenez, 422 from Plaridel, and 24 families from Gingoog City that have received FFPs and cash assistance.

In addition, some 1,732 beneficiaries received financial assistance in Oroquieta City, 623 families from Aloran, and 492 families from Lopez Jaena.

Each family in the mentioned LGUs of Misamis Occidental received Php 5,000 under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).

On Friday, December 30, DSWD Officer-in-Charge Eduardo M. Punay expressed his gratitude to all DSWD personnel for their hard work and dedication to help disaster-stricken families.

As of December 30, 6PM, the DSWD has provided a total of Php 28,131,527.29 worth of assistance to the affected families. ###
