Officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), other government agencies, and development partners conducted the 15th Joint Review Mission Field Visit in Baguio City, and in the towns of Tuba and Tublay in Benguet from March 12 to 15 to assess the progress of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Expanded Social Assistance Project (ESAP).

The DSWD Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and representatives of the local government units (LGUs) provided the mission team with an overview of the 4Ps implementation in the region. The mission team also engaged in dialogue with beneficiaries and municipal links to gather feedback and identify challenges and areas for improvement.

Through the conduct of Family Development Sessions, as well as interviews with Landbank officials, the field visit also served as a venue to discuss ways forward to ensure efficient and effective payout to all 4Ps households.

The DSWD group was composed of Undersecretary for National Household Targeting System and 4Ps Vilma B. Cabrera, Assistant Secretary for External Assistance and Development Juan Carlo V. Marquez, and officials and staff of DSWD Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Field Office.

Joining them were Asian Development Bank (ADB) Social Sector Economist Amir H. Jilani, and executives of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Australian Government-Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Representatives of the Department of Health (DOH) also joined the review mission.

4Ps plays a crucial role in improving the lives of Filipinos, particularly by ensuring children’s access to education and healthcare, highlighting the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders as a comprehensive approach to development. #
