The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Field Office MIMAROPA, kicked off on Thursday, June 1, another rollout of the provision of cash assistance to formal and informal fisherfolks affected by the Mindoro Oil spill.

During the first day of the cash payout, some 246 fisherfolks with motorized boats from Roxas, Oriental Mindoro received cash aid under the DSWD’s Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) Program. Other registered fisherfolks with motorized and non-motorized boats are set to get their cash aid starting Friday, June 2.
