In line with the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided gift packs and free meals to persons with disability clients of the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) at the DSWD Central Office on July 22.

With the theme, “Pamahalaan Kabalikat sa Pagtupad ng Pantay na Edukasyon, Trabaho, at Kabuhayan, Tugon sa Pagpapalakas ng Taong may Kapansanan” or “Working with Government in Achieving Equal Access to Education, Employment, and Livelihood Towards Empowerment of Persons with Disability,” the 44th NDPR Week, which was observed from July 17 to 23, aimed to support initiatives towards disability prevention and rehabilitation for the effective integration of persons with disability into the mainstream society.

Under the leadership of Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo, the DSWD, in collaboration with the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), the DSWD will continue to strengthen and support efforts towards building an inclusive and barrier-free society that will help persons with disability to fully realize their whole potential. ###
