The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) signed recently an agreement with Jollibee Foods (JFC) Corporation to support programs and activities to bring Filipino families closer together.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the DSWD and Jollibee was sealed by Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman and JFC Chief Executive Officer Ernesto Tanmantiong.

The DSWD and Jollibee both recognize the need to strengthen family-related programs and activities.  The collaboration is also in line with government’s thrust of public-private partnership.

Secretary Soliman explained that under the MOU, the DSWD will support the   35th anniversary of Jollibee this year, 3rd Family Values Award, 19th Maaga ang Pasko and other family-related activities organized by Jollibee.

The 3rd Family Values Award recognizes model Filipino families whose strong ties and admirable qualities serve as inspiration to their communities, while “Maaga ng Pasko” is a gift-giving campaign drive for less fortunate children.

On the other hand, Jollibee will acknowledge the partnership with the DSWD throughout the year via publicity.  It will extend support to the DSWD through food provision in the conduct of nationwide events as well as family themed seminars and trainings.

“We are glad to have this partnership with Jollibee to continue our commitment to promote positive Filipino values,” Secretary Soliman said.  ###
