The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) National Program Manager Atty. Bernadette Mapue-Joaquin attends the Midterm Review and Exit Conference for the Philippine Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) on Thursday (March 21) at the Department of Health (DOH) Compound in Manila.

During the exit conference, the World Bank (WB) commended the DSWD for its completion of 2,055 community sub-projects on early childhood care and development (ECD) and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) which benefitted more than 560,000 beneficiaries.

Among top government officials present in the meeting were DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, DOH Undersecretary Lilibeth David, DOH Undersecretary Gloria Balboa, National Nutrition Council (NNC) Executive Director Assistant Secretary Azucena Dayanghirang, and PMNP Project Leader Dr. Maria Ofelia Alcantara.

Also in attendance were World Bank executives led by East Asia and Pacific Regional Operations Manager for Health, Nutrition and Population Ronald Upenyu Mutasa; Senior Nutrition Specialist Ali Winoto Subandoro; Global Director for Health Nutrition and Population Juan Pablo Uribe; and Senior Economist Tara Béteille. #
