Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo led the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) employees in affirming its commitment to quality public service delivery by vowing to adhere to the Department’s Quality Policy Statement.

In 2021, DSWD was awarded with an ISO 9001:2015 Certificate of Compliance for its quality management system.  Pursuant to its commitment to continuously enhance and deliver quality service, the Department crafted its quality policy statements to set the principles that will guide every employee in giving out world standard of quality public service to the Filipinos.

The policy statements emphasize that DSWD must always deliver social protection programs to the sectors it serves; sustain a culture of excellence through continual improvement; work with integrity and ethical standards for client satisfaction; and, demonstrate sincere concern for the poor through compassionate service that is free from any form of corruption.

On July 13, Secretary Tulfo issued a directive to continue implementing and enhancing the DSWD quality management system, which is also in line with Republic Act No. 11032 or the “Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018.”

Moreover, DSWD also collaborated with the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) for the translation of the quality policy or the “Patakaran sa Kalidad”, which all employees can take to heart.  Since this month of August we are celebrating the Buwan ng Wika, the Department officially presented the Filipino translation of the Quality Policy Statement or the “Patakaran sa Kalidad” during the simple ceremonial renewal of commitment during the August 15 flag raising activity.

In his message, Secretary Tulfo said, “ang pagsisilbi bilang isang kawani ng DSWD ay isang bokasyon na tumulong para sa ikabubuti ng mga mahihirap, mga bulnerable, mga senior citizen, mga Indigenous Peoples, mga person with disabilities, mga kabataan, at iba pang sektor na nangangailangan (public service in DSWD is a vocation to help improved the lives of the poor, vulnerable, senior citizens, Indigenous Peoples, person with disabilities (PWD), the youth, and other needy sectors).”

“Kung kaya, parati kong ipinaaalala na tiyaking maayos ang ating pagtrato sa ating mga kliyente sapagkat sila ang dahilan kung bakit mayroong DSWD; at laging isaisip at isa-puso ang mahalagang kontribusyon ng bawat isa sa DSWD sa pagpapa-abot ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan (that is why, I always remind everyone to ensure that we treat our clients right because they are the reason for DSWD’s mandate; always remember the important contribution of every DSWD employee in the goal to help the needy),” the Secretary added.

To cap off the simple ceremony, Secretary Tulfo spearheaded the signing of the DSWD Quality Policy statement to serve as a tangible reminder for all employees to always strive towards service excellence and achieve client satisfaction in performing the Department’s mandate. ###
