The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officially welcomed the newly-installed Regional Director and Assistant Regional Directors of the DSWD Field Office (FO) V, during the turn-over ceremony on Monday, October 3, in Legazpi City, Albay.

The ceremonial turnover was led by Undersecretary for Special Concerns Vilma Cabrera, together with Assistant Secretary for Luzon Affairs Marites Maristela, and Assistant Secretary for Office of the Secretary (OSEC) Concerns Irene Dumlao.

In her message, Undersecretary Cabrera conveyed her congratulations, on behalf of DSWD Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo and the whole DSWD.

“From our Honorable Secretary Tulfo, good luck po sa inyong trabaho. Simula pa lamang po ang Karding at marami pa darating. Please be strong at lagi ninyong i-consider kung ano ang strength ng Region – at ang strength niya ay ang ating mga tao. To the Angels in Red Vest, continue serving but also please be mindful of the hazards and the threats along the way (From our Honorable Secretary Tulfo, good luck on your work. Typhoon Karding is just the start, expect that there are other challenges that will come. Please be strong and always consider the strength of the region which are the employees. Meanwhile, Regional Director (RD) Norman Laurio, along with Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Melchor Sañano and Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Raul Enojas, expressed their gratitude to the DSWD as they accepted the responsibilities of being the new leaders of FO V.

“I am extremely privileged and honored to accept my appointment as Regional Director of DSWD Region 5, mostly because I will be working with people whose dedication to service has made the DSWD Region 5 what it is today,” Regional Director Laurio said.

“Together with my team of Assistant Regional Directors – ARDO Melchor Sañano and ARDA Raul Enojas, we are more than pleased and confident to be working under Secretary Tulfo whose passion for public service and great work ethics is widely acclaimed,” he added.

RD Laurio also ensured that he will perform his duties and responsibilities in providing prompt, caring, and compassionate services to his constituents.
