DSWD's 4Ps reiterates value of grantees’ attendance in family development sessions

The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has reiterated the significance of attending family development sessions (FDS) which is one of the program’s conditionalities for its grantees.

“Importante po ang pagdalo sa family development sessions dahil ito ay isa sa mga conditionality o itinakdang kundisyon ng programa natin…dito po natin ginagawa yung paghulma ng kamalayan ng bawat miyembro ng pamilya [na kabilang sa] Pantawid,” 4Ps Social Marketing Division (SMD) Chief (DC) Marie Grace Ponce said on Wednesday (March 12) in the DSWD’s online program, “4Ps Fastbreak”.

DC Ponce said the FDS is one of the components that makes the 4Ps a unique conditional cash transfer program because it seeks to empower household-beneficiaries by imparting values and attitudes that will help them meet their familial duties and responsibilities, while at the same time promoting holistic development and social awareness.

“Hindi lamang tayo basta namumuhunan doon sa health and education ng mga bata pero gusto rin natin na magkaroon ng pagbabago doon sa pag-iisip at sa kamalayan ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino sa 4Ps program,” the 4Ps SMD chief told ‘4Ps Fastbreak.’

Among the topics discussed in FDS sessions are the guide to family development, social preparation for new and graduating household beneficiaries, module on child labor, module on child sexual abuse prevention (CSAP), active citizenship, parenting effectiveness session, disaster preparedness, and digital financial literacy.

DC Ponce also reminded 4Ps grantees that the program allows proxy attendance and make-up FDS attendace based on the program’s guidelines.

The 4Ps is the national poverty reduction strategy and a human capital investment program of the Philippine government, with the DSWD as the lead agency. Eligible household-beneficiaries are entitled to receive cash subsidies provided that the conditions on health, nutrition, and education are followed.

The ‘4Ps Fastbreak’ is hosted by Information Officer Venus Balito of the Strategic Communication Group’s Digital Media Service (DMS) and is aired every Wednesday, 11 am, using the DSWD’s Facebook platform. (AKDL)

The DSWD is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. The DSWD only has access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via the modules of this website or other direct contact from you. All of the provisions in the Data Privacy Act will be observed specifically on the management of personally identifiable information.

Information collected may be used as a basis for client response regarding services or intervention that may be provided by the DSWD. Information will not be shared with any third party outside of the Government, other than as necessary to fulfill the requested services of a client. The DSWD, however, reserves the right to request the applicants to submit the hardcopy of documentary requirements in order to verify the authenticity of the information.

Unless otherwise provided, the DSWD or any of its authorized personnel may contact the client via email or SMS in the future for the purpose of status updates with regard to the transaction/service request, changes to this privacy policy, or other information reasonably necessary to effect the social service mandate of the DSWD.

An individual has the right to ask for a copy of any personal information held by the DSWD about him or her; as well as the right to ask for corrections should any information be inaccurate or erroneous. The DSWD takes precautions to protect information. Upon submission of sensitive information via the website, information is protected both online and offline. Wherever the Department collects sensitive information (such as passport and Birth Certificates), that information is encrypted and transmitted to the DSWD in a secure manner. This may be verified by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, certificate printing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers, where personally identifiable information is stored, are kept in a secure environment.
