Repacking of relief goods by DSWD staff and volunteers is still on-going at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) as relief distribution continues in areas affected by floods.

The NROC is the command center and national warehouse of the DSWD where disaster operations are monitored, and relief goods are stored and re-packed.

As of August 13, 2012, 8:00 a.m., a total of 3,004 volunteers  comprising of students, non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations (POs), faith-based organizations, private companies and families from the different areas in Metro Manila registered at  NROC.

Some 136, 730 family food packs worth P34.18M have been repacked. Of these, DSWD has released 102, 455 family food packs amounting to P25.61 million to all the affected areas. Each food pack contains three kilos of rice, five tin cans sardines, four tin cans corned beef, and seven packs of instant noodles.

Meanwhile, some 821 evacuation centers remain open serving 76, 683 families or  347,613 persons in NCR, Regions I, III, IV-A and IV-B.

In NCR, 194 evacuation centers remain open in the cities of Caloocan, Pasig and Las Piñas; 305 in Region III, 318 in Region IV-A and four in Region IV-B.

In Region IV-A, ten DSWD teams have been deployed in Angono, Rodriguez, Cainta and San Mateo in Rizal; and in Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Bay, Sta. Cruz, San Pedro, and Calamba City in Laguna, to assess the families inside the evacuation centers and assist in management of the evacuation center and for relief distribution. To ensure the orderly distribution of relief goods and prevent duplication on services provided, the families will be provided with Disaster Assistance Family Access Cards (DAFAC), designed by DSWD and issued by the LGUs that will entitle families to relief assistance.
